Futures Leagues

Who Are We (Futures League)? What Is Our Purpose?

Motto - The Future Begins With How We Teach And Serve Today

1) Futures participants are respectful, kind, courteous, and thoughtful of all individuals involved from the referees to the scorekeepers to the fans, coaches, and players
2) We are a League that leaves the place better than we found it—benches, parking area, coaching our teams, and communicating with our coaches
3) We work with our coaches to accommodate their scheduling needs, provide appropriate competition, and assist in improving their teams and knowledge of their appropriate sport
4) We are a League that assists in the teaching and developing of coaches, players, and parents

Futures Philosophy

We believe that healthy, athletic-minded children should spend a majority of their playtime in free play outside, not in organized sport. We encourage all of the kids who participate in our leagues to "practice" and play for fun outside on the playground, in the backyard, and on the asphalt as much as possible.

Our off-season leagues (Fall & Summer Basketball, Summer Volleyball, Fall Lacrosse & Winter Soccer) exist to promote healthful exercise, positive relationship-building competition, and just plain fun.

Our in-season league (Winter Basketball) provides an opportunity for more serious "scorekeeping", team teaching, and organized practice times.

Futures Leagues offer age-appropriate competition for young sports teams and more:

  • a well-organized, professionally staffed program
  • consistency in rules and among teams
  • spacious, beautiful facilities at Ensworth High School's Devon Farm Campus
A list of leagues now being offered is on the left of this page. You can download the Big E brochure here.
